Thinking about a new term.

Well its almost September and I am trying to get my head round what to do for the next 52 weeks.

Things are going well here lots of waldorfy outdoor and arts and crafts type stuff lots of baking mixed in with Montessori manipulative's and lots and lots of books.

I think we have found what fits really now, harry loves the Waldorf type art and craft and I am likely to use either live education or christoperous to support this, but there is no way I can stop her doing formal reading and writing until she is seven as she wants to do both now, so we are using letts get started books to dvelop pencil control while also using sandpaper letters and the insets for design, maths isn't so much of an interest so we are just using number songs and of course learning about the worlds around us reading lots of books and talking, she still loves the tv so i have put limits on it on week days no TV between 9.30 am and 4.30pm so she can watch her two fav programmes Me To! and Finley the little fire engine I have also hidden all the DVDs except for jolly phonics. Mean mummy am I...

So I am thinking of a packaged Waldorf curriculum with Montessori materials and workbooks to support different topics I will also keep one eye on the national curriculum as well but there is no way I will strictly follow it.

I have been thinking our educational philosophy for the LEA is it is guaranteed that next march we will get the forms for Harry to start school in September, I know legal starting age isn't till five but I am sure questions will be asked.

One the upside her play group which is brilliant will keep her until the July after he fifth birthday so she will be five years six weeks old when she leaves which I think will be great for her.

LIFE IN GENERAL.

things are better here my partner has a job still cutting grass for the local council, I have been temping but, I am starting a degree is September, I have now been working with early years children for thirteen years and there is no progression now unless I manage a setting open my own or train as a teacher!!!!!!!!!!!

The idea to do something in health has also been an idea, I did science A levels, have worked on wards to pay for my early years training an I am a st john ambulance member and I have worked as a First Aid Trainer. I applied late for uni and applied for podiatry as a first choice with radiography as my reserve, I was offered a place on a radiography course but just before I sent off my acceptance form, I was offered a place to study podiatry, I am doing the part time route three days a week, so lets see what happens I start on 18Th September.

She will be doing three three hour sessions at a montessori from september so I can fit some work in, I am hoping the supply will take of soon, I am doing a nanny temp this weekend
