One Hundred and Fifty Pounds for a BUGGY!!

spent friday on placement at a wonderful pure montessori school and I am still on a high it also reminds me why i want to use montessori to home ed Harry.

We have also arranged a childminder so I can do my placements.

Has anyone worked as a childminder while home edding did it work out and what did the LEA think.

we are also the proud owners of a new buggy as my mothercare one had died, 150 pounds for a buggy dis seem a little steep but when folded in fits in a foot well and it moves like a dream, its great to hear about the camp, who are they rum by I may be being stupid here and how old do the little ones have to be at the youngest.

must do the ironing.....

Well, I think Barbara currently holds the camp record for youngest baby in attendance - R was ten days old last year ;)

Several ppl have gone to muddlepuddle camps with children around the age of three I think. Merry locates the site and so on for muddlepuddle camps, a number of us bring crafty type stuff.

There are a variety of other camps as well, often run by local networks, EO, and there is of course Hesfes.

I HE and childmind, although I've not been childminding long. The little boy I look after ATM is only 17months old, so not too difficult to slot activities around, just more difficult to get out and about.

Balls to the LEA, it's none of their business. The LEA are concerned with the education that your children are receiving - that's it.

Ofsted (who register childminders and therefore may have something to say about the fact you HE) weren't concerned at all, simply asked me how I planned to do both, nodded, commented on my 'wealth of resources' (preen and shine) and let me get on with it.

Can be bloody hard work though - and I've taken a huge drop in earnings! Still, money is needed and there aren't too many other things I can do that slot in around HE except for Ninny Noodle Noo (which obviously I'm already doing).

if you mean the kessie camp, its a family holiday for muddlepuddle home educators with socialising and a few crafts. ours were 4 and 7 months.

HI Rachel,
Just introducing myself ... I'm Sally, home-eding Mialani (near 5), and Freya (born May 13th 2004) with Montessori. I part trained in the USA at elementary level (tho have taught 2.5 - 12). Have also been researching infant programme. Happy to chat sometime if you would like to too ... as we seem to be doing quite a lot similarly (maybe) ... and it is always exciting to find another Montessorian. Where are you training (you mention placements). I'd love to complete my training, but suspect I'd have to start from scratch ... too expensive, and can't earn money from it and home-ed (unless I took in other children to Montessori educate, and that is more than the job I want, I think! LOL).
Hope your knee is improving!
Best wishes
Sally
